Hornby Island
Hornby Island visitors will find much to enjoy throughout the year on Hornby Island, most famous for its magnificent sandy warm-water swimming beaches, and for the dramatic wildflower and oak bluffs of Helliwell Park. Campsites, hiking and biking trails, and a variety of water sports are available. Nature enthusiasts will spot eagles, seals, sea lions, and numerous sea and song birds, as well as some exotic wildflowers and wild edibles.
The island, located approximately 80 miles northwest of Vancouver, is renowned for an abundance of artists and crafters, many of whom open their home studios to visitors.
Be sure to visit some of the art galleries and the shops at the Ringside Market. The hand-crafted Community Hall showcases dances, movies, festivals, and art shows.
Local farms, nurseries, produce markets, and restaurants feature home-made, home-grown and home-cooked delicacies. Hornby has several wineries that are sometimes open for tastings. And after all this, take time to relax at one of Hornby's charming B& B's.
Denman Island
Denman Island has a wide variety of sport and culturalattractions to entice visitors year round. Located just 15 minutes by ferry off the east coast of Vancouver Island, Denman Island is home to farmers, gardeners, artists, artisans, and musicians.
Cultural attractions here include the Summer Arts Gallery, the Readers' and Writers' Festival, Pottery and Studio Tours, various Denman Arts Center workshops, yoga and exercise classes, and the Hermitage Buddhist retreat.

Visitors can camp and hike in Denman's parks; dramatic volcanic rock-and-sandstone beaches and lush rainforest trails provide opportunities for cycling, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and diving. Photographers and birdwatchers will enjoy many opportunities to see local wildlife. Denman is renowned for its farms, orchards, and gardens, which are showcased during the Home and Garden Tour. Harvest contests display the agricultural products during the fall Blackberry Faire. Take the opportunity to visit the many year-round artists and artisans' studios, browse the stores and restaurants for books, gifts, and edibles, or just relax at one of Denman's delightfully friendly B & B's.
